December 27, 2020 - Worship from Home

12/26/2020

As we close out 2020, we thank you for joining us each week for our virtual worship experience.

For our final Worship from Home of 2020, we invite you to TRULY worship from home with liturgy and guidance to follow all on your own!

We have two options for you to Worship from Home on Sunday, December 27.

The first is from A Sanctified Art, LLC that has helped guide us through the "Those Who Dream" series during Advent and Christmas. We will continue "Those Who Dream," through Sunday, January 3.   Those Who Dream Will Not Keep Silent is designed to help you set aside time and space for worship in your own home. While this may not be the formal order of worship you are accustomed to, this simply liturgy invites you to carve out space for reflection, scripture, and prayer - using items you likely have at home. It can be used by individuals or families, including those with young children. You can download this option here.

The second option is from a fellow Disciples church in Arizona and provides a more interactive option for worshiping from home this Sunday. You’re invited to pray for your neighborhood, making a five-stop journey throughout your neighborhood, town, or city, ending at your home. You should be able to complete the first four stops driving around not too far from your home or walking around a downtown area. At each stop, you’re invited to read a scripture, reflect on that scripture in that place, and pray before heading to the next stop. You can download this Praying the Neighborhood option, here.

A third, or additional option for your Sunday morning includes a concert from last year's Hanging of the Greens service at one of our sister Disciples churches in Kentucky. Rev. Dean Phelps has sung for us in worship this year, and we are grateful for his voice, again!

December 24, 2020 - Christmas Eve Worship from Home

12/23/2020

The worship video will become available
Christmas Eve morning at least by 11:00 a.m.
If it does not work for you right away, please try refreshing your browser
Please use this outline as you participate in our online worship. You can also download a PDF of our order of worship, here. The weekly announcements for our community can be found on our website home page.

Our online worship can begin whenever you and your family would like to experience worship. It will be available by 11:00 a.m. on Christmas Eve. Grab a candle to recall the light of Christ - YOUR ADVENT WREATH if you are able - something that you can use for communion, and your offering, so that you are ready to worship God. If you have a taper candle to use for the end of worship, we would love to share the light with you!

Send us an email and let us know you joined us! See you at 10:30!

Invitation to Worship
one: This year, we dreamed of world peace.
all: We dreamed of deep breaths and restful sleep.
one: We dreamed of love that lasts and suffering that passes.
all:: We dreamed of doors open wide and a cure to disease.
one: We dreamed, because to dream is to believe.
all:  For to dream is to hope; to dream is to see.
one: So make room in your being to dream yet again,
all: Of a world without fear, and a God that draws near.
one: For it is almost Christmas.
all: Love is almost here.
one: May we dream to see, and hope to believe.
all: Let us worship Holy God.

December 21, 2020 - Longest Night Worship

12/21/2020

December 21, 2020 - Welcome to the Fourth Sunday of Advent from home!

Tonight there is no written order of worship, instead you are invited to listen and experience this service, trusting in the Holy Spirit to guide and comfort you.

You will want to bring some pieces of paper on which to write notes, along with a writing utensil, and as always, something to use for partaking of communion for all who will worship with you (ALL are welcome in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) - #allmeansall !)

Prayers for you, this night and always - the light is on it's way.
