OPCC NurseryWe are honored to have the opportunity to care for your child. Our excellent nursery staff provides quality care during worship, the Christian Education hour, and during and many of our special events and various activities.
Staff members are available in the nursery beginning at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings through the end of our 10:30 a.m. worship service. The nursery is available for children from birth through three years old. Children four years and older may attend Sunday School and Children Worship & Wonder, or also stay in worship in our family-friendly worship area. We hope to provide you with options that fit your family's worship experience. You can contact our church office to find out if childcare will be provided during a certain meeting, or to request childcare if you need it for one of your meetings at OPCC. Check-In Procedures The nursery is located on the north-east corner of the building, room #41. Parents are asked to drop off their child by checking-in with a staff member where each child will be welcomed and offered a toy or invited to get involved in an activity. |

Parents/guardians are asked to complete an Information Sheet and are also asked for contact information or given a pager. Every child should be signed in each time they visit the nursery. The contact information and/or pager allow us to locate parents/guardians during their time at OPCC if needed. The information sheet allows you to communicate with us any special needs your child may experience. If someone other than the person bringing the child will be picking them up, please make a note of that on the information sheet, and provide that individual with the pager for check-out.
Check-Out Procedures
The staff person or designated volunteer will greet parents/guardians as they pick up their children. Pagers will be collected and the child needs to be signed-out. You will be given the check-in sheet to give you an idea of your child’s activities during their time in the nursery.
Locating the Parent(s) if Needed
Certain circumstances may require locating a child’s parents. These may include an inconsolable child, sudden illness or injury. Though we never anticipate an issues, should the need arise, the nursery staff person or one of the Pastors will locate you immediately. If there is a concern that a child may be contagious, the staff will locate the parent(s) and request that the child be taken out of the nursery. Nursery staff will contact you through the pager provided, or by texting the cell phone number provided.
Play Time/Toys
Each child is his or her own unique individual and may have different schedules or needs. Every attempt will be made to provide the best care for your child with this in mind. Age-appropriate toys, books, and puzzles are provided for your child’s enjoyment.
Diaper Changing/Potty Training
Each child will be checked periodically to see if a diaper change is needed. Diapers are changed in the changing station located in the bathroom connected to the nursery. Before changing the diaper our nursery staff will review the child’s check-in sheet for any special instructions. Please keep our nursery staff up to date on any potty training rituals and a recommended time for checking with your child about their need to use the bathroom.
Snacks
Toddlers and older infants may desire a snack at some point during their stay. Please always note on your child’s check-in sheet if this is appropriate for your child or if your child has any allergies. Children are given snacks in the highchairs or at the tables and monitored closely for choking.
