Nadine Sheldon, 103, of Overland Park, KS passed away on June 29th, 2020. She was born on August 22, 1916 in Waverly, KS to Charles and Flora Kelley. Nadine was a member of Overland Park Christian Church dating back to 1957. She was very active in the women’s ministry and the food kitchen. She enjoyed gardening and was known to grow the best tomatoes and black raspberries. Nadine loved to travel including to New Zealand, Fiji, Costa Rica and Peru.
Nadine was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Sheldon; grandson, Danny Sheldon; great-granddaughter, Jewell Frerichs; son-in-law, David Michael; parents; and three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her two children, Earl (Barbara) Sheldon and Jan Michael; grandchildren, Mark Sheldon, Amy Sheldon, Melissa Ricker, Kelley Frerichs, Kristen Smith, Lori Kjeldgaard, and Alicia Chandler; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great granddaughters.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 2nd at 1 PM at Overland Park Christian Church. Burial at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Due to COVID restrictions, the service will be limited to family only and broadcast on the church’s website. If you are family and will be in attendance for the service on Thursday, masks will be required at the church.
