Worship is at the heart of our life together at Overland Park Christian Church. It is a time to step beyond the noise and expectations of the world and become present to something deeper.
We gather through music and silence, prayer and scripture, communion and reflection. We are not about simply to going through the motions, but becoming more aware of the presence of God within us, among us, and all around us.
Our faith invites us to look deeper, to listen differently, and to continually bring our lives into greater alignment with the way of Jesus. Worship reminds us that transformation does not begin somewhere out there. It begins in how we see, how we love, how we live, and how consciously we meet one another.
We sing, we celebrate and we take time to become still enough to listen. Through it all, we practice becoming more awake to God, to one another, and to the sacredness already present in every moment.
Sunday at OPCC
Sunday mornings are a time to worship, learn, connect, and simply enjoy being together.
Sunday Morning Schedule
9:00 a.m. — Coffee Fellowship
Join us in the Fireside Room for coffee and conversation. Fellowship continues throughout the morning.
9:00 a.m. — Christian Education
Opportunities for children, youth, and adults are offered in classrooms throughout the building, including seasonal studies.
10:30 a.m. — Sanctuary Worship
Our primary weekly worship gathering brings together traditional and contemporary elements in a style that is distinctly OPCC.
Come as you are. On any given Sunday, you'll find people dressed in everything from jeans and sweatshirts to jackets and ties.
Children are welcome in worship, and Children Worship & Wonder is also offered during the school year for families who choose it.
Our nursery is open Sunday mornings from 10 a.m.–noon for parents and caregivers to use with their children. While the nursery is not regularly staffed at this time, families planning to attend who need nursery care are encouraged to contact the church office ahead of their visit.
Worship With Us Online
You don't have to be in the sanctuary to worship with us.
Our worship community extends beyond the walls of OPCC. Whether you're homebound, traveling, exploring OPCC for the first time, or simply unable to join us in person this week, you're invited to worship with us online.

What Worship Is Like
It's difficult to describe OPCC worship with a single label—and we think that's a good thing.
Our worship draws from both ancient and modern practices of the Christian faith. You may encounter hymns alongside contemporary music, organ and choir alongside other musicians, familiar traditions alongside creative expressions of worship.
Together, these become moments of prayer, praise, preaching, reflection, fellowship, and joyful participation.
The best way to understand worship at OPCC may simply be to experience it.
Everyone Is Welcome at the Table
Communion is central to worship in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
As Disciples, we understand ourselves as “a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.” We believe the Lord's Table belongs to Christ—not to us—and Christ's welcome is wider than any boundary we could place around it.
You don't have to be a member of OPCC or of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to receive Communion with us.
When we gather at the Table,
all who seek Christ are welcome.
