Overland Park Christian Church—OPCC—is a community of people seeking to follow Christ, grow together in faith, and share God’s love with our neighbors.
We value questions as much as answers, welcome people and families in all their variety, and believe church is a place where people of every age can learn, serve, connect, and belong.
Who We Are
At OPCC, faith is something we practice together.
We are a community that values children and youth, supports families of all arrangements, reaches beyond our walls to serve our neighbors, and encourages one another as we grow in our relationships with God.
We know that no church can be all things to all people. What we can offer is a community committed to walking alongside one another—sharing our experiences and gifts, learning together, serving together, and doing our best to live Christ’s love in the world.

Faith is a journey, not a finish line. We make room for learning, questions, conversation, worship, and the many ways people encounter God throughout their lives.

Church is community. We seek to create a place where children, youth, adults, individuals, and families of all arrangements know that they are valued and have a place among us.

Our Story
From a drive-in theater to a community of faith.
OPCC’s story began in an unusual place: a drive-in theater.
From those beginnings, generations of people have worshiped, served, celebrated, grieved, learned, and grown together as Overland Park Christian Church.
Our 75th anniversary gave us an opportunity to look back at the people, places, ministries, and moments that shaped our congregation. We invite you to watch our anniversary retrospective and discover some of the story that brought OPCC to where we are today.
Our Disciples Identity
Overland Park Christian Church is a congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a movement whose identity is rooted in Christian unity, welcome, and the Lord’s Table.
As Disciples, we understand ourselves as part of “a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.” The Communion table stands at the heart of our worship, and all are welcome at the Table as God has welcomed us.
Our connection to the Disciples of Christ is part of the larger story of who we are, while the ways we live that faith together continue to take shape here at OPCC and in the community around us.

OPCC has changed over the years, but our story continues every time someone walks through our doors, asks a question, joins us at the Table, lends a hand, shares a gift, or simply decides to see what this community is about.
