Membership

OPCC welcomes individuals into membership in several ways, including:

• A confession of faith in Christ Jesus;
• Transfer of membership from another congregation (any other congregation; we don’t claim to be the only Christians, we are Christians only, and recognize and support the ministry of other Christian churches);
• Reaffirmation of faith (should you have no active membership); and,
• Spiritual seekers who want to explore faith but are not ready for membership are encouraged and welcomed in our faith community. If you are looking for companions to walk beside you on faith’s way, enourage and support you, and offer you the freedom to decide your faith without coercion, OPCC is the church for you.

Our process is not complicated; simply arrange a visit with our pastor to discuss your personal situation, and when you decide our congregation is right for you, simply present yourself for membership. We routinely offer opportunities to meet with our pastor; sessions to learn more about the congregation and our denomination, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); and offer an optional orientation class for new members, or those contemplating membership.
